Description

High's Mill is a derelict windpump located in Halvergate Marshes, dating from the early 19th century. It features a tarred brick tower that tapers and stands three storeys tall. The structure has one window opening at the first floor and two door openings at the ground floor, both topped with segmental brick arches. The windpump includes a reused 18th-century cap frame set on a wooden curb and track. It has a cast iron windshaft with a wooden clasp arm brakewheel, an early clasp arm wooden trundle wheel with dog teeth, and a 16-sided upright shaft. Additionally, there is a cast iron crown and pit wheel with wooden teeth, along with a square timber drive shaft leading to the scoop wheel.
