Description
Dell Cottages is a house that has been extended and is now divided into two cottages. It dates from the 17th century and features a timber frame that was reclad in the 18th century. There is a mid-19th century rear extension, along with a further extension from the 20th century. The gable has an exposed frame in the upper part above a brick wall, with a flint plinth. The front wall is constructed of brickwork in Flemish bond with cambered openings, while the rear wing has flint walls with brick dressings. The roof is half-hipped and tiled, sloping down to the rear wing. The original rectangular block has a rear wing facing the roadway, forming an L-shape. The south-west front elevation is two storeys high and has three windows with casements. There is a boarded door for No. 2 in a plain frame, and another doorway that has been bricked up. The north-west elevation features the gable on its south side, also two storeys high, with three windows that have casements and a 20th-century door beneath a hipped tiled canopy supported by posts.
