Description

Cross Lane Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century and a minor 20th-century extension. The house is timber-framed, with brick cladding, some of which is laid in a herringbone pattern. Other walls are of brick, with a plinth and a small area of flint. The roof is tiled and half-hipped. The house is L-shaped and two storeys high, with an irregular arrangement of casement windows. There are plain doorways. The upper portions of the walls reveal the timber frame, which is filled in with brick.
