Description

Ashton House is a 17th-century timber-framed house that has undergone 20th-century renovations and extensions designed to match the original style. The upper walls feature exposed framing with brick infill, while the other walls are made of brickwork. The house has a thatched roof with eyebrow dormers. It is a long building, and there is a 20th-century wing that is similar in form and positioned at right angles to the main structure. The southeast front elevation has one storey and an attic, with four windows that are casements. There is a plain doorway topped with a thatched hood, and the timber frame is exposed on the interior.
