Description
1 and 2 Meadow Cottages is a house that has been divided into two cottages. It dates from the 17th century and has undergone alterations and additions in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is timber-framed and covered in red brick, topped with a plain tile roof and a red brick chimney stack. It stands two storeys high and likely originally had a two-cell lobby-entry plan, with a possible extension on the right side.
The brickwork shows patches that indicate a blocked doorway at the front, likely related to its conversion in the 19th century. The entrances are now located at the gable ends, and there is a single-storey addition on the right side with a door beneath a pantile roof. The front features two 3-light casement windows set under cambered arches, a single light window in the position of a fire window, and two additional single light windows on the right. On the first floor, there are two 2-light casements. The roof is steeply pitched, and there is a partly reconstructed off-centre stack. The interior has not been inspected.
