Description
Tudor Cottage is a house that likely dates from the late 16th century to the 17th century, with later alterations and additions, including a renovation around 1962. The building is timber-framed and sits on a brick plinth, topped with a plain tile roof and featuring a red brick stack. It has two storeys and consists of two bays, showcasing close studding with long down braces above the middle rail. The windows are casement style. The roof is hipped and gabletted, with a ridge stack, and there is an addition to the right under a pent roof that contains the current entrance. Inside, the ground floor has exposed beams and joists, with the sitting room featuring joists numbered in sequence using Roman numerals. There are also imported 16th-century moulded beams and joists in the 20th-century addition.
