Description

The Thatched Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th to 18th century. It is timber framed and plastered, featuring a thatched roof and a rear lean-to. The cottage has a central red brick chimney stack and is one storey with attics. There are two gabled dormers that have small paned vertically sliding sash windows, along with two small paned casements on the ground floor. A door is located at the rear. Inside, the frame remains intact, showing carpenters' marks on the ground cill. The original central chimney bay included a doorway, and there are bracing to the walls and a side purlin roof.
