Description
Wicks Green Cottages are two cottages that have been combined into one house. They date from the 16th and 17th centuries, with alterations made in the 18th century and further extensions and changes in the late 20th century. The building features a mix of materials, including part timber frame with brick infill and part brick in English bond, topped with gabled and hipped roofs covered in old tiles.
The structure is L-shaped, with extensions on the east and south sides. It stands one and a half to two storeys high, with an attic, and has two chimneys with cornice heads and clay pots. The entrance front, facing north, has four bays. The left section projects forward and has a brick ground floor with a timber-framed first floor. There is a narrow gabled dormer on the right return that breaks the eaves, along with two other windows. The central section features two gabled dormers with two-light windows. A 20th-century entrance door is located on the left side below, with a single light window on the right. The right gable has a single bay with a three-light mullion and transom window on both the ground and first floors. The interior has not been inspected.
