Description
Barnside House is a house dating from around 1800, which was extended in the late 19th century and altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate hipped roof. The building has a rectangular plan and has been extended at the rear.
The house stands two storeys tall and has two tall chimneys on the sides and one at the rear, all topped with clay pots. The front, facing the road to the southeast, is symmetrical and consists of two bays. There is a 20th-century six-panel door in the center, flanked by fluted pilasters and topped with a flat hood supported by carved brackets.
The interior has not been inspected. Barnside House was once the home of a wheelwright who built two workshops behind the house. It is included for its group value.
