Description

Raper Lodge is an early 19th-century lodge house located on Coal Pit Lane in the parish of Youlgrave. The building is constructed from coursed rubble limestone, featuring gritstone dressings and quoins. It has a hipped stone slate roof with stone ridge stacks. The lodge is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with the central bay being significantly advanced.

The central window is a recessed 3-light window with cavetto moulding and pointed lights, flanked by similar 2-light windows on either side. Above these, there are matching windows arranged in the same manner. The centre of the building features a pedimented gable with a coved cornice and moulded copings. The west gable also has a 3-light window that matches the others. The windows are adorned with diamond leaded lights. At the rear, there is a four-centred arched doorcase with a studded wooden door.
