Description
White Lodge is an early 19th-century lodge located in Humshaugh Village. It is constructed of whinstone rubble that has been rendered and whitewashed, featuring raised sandstone quoins and dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof. The building has a square plan and includes a first-floor sill band.
The front elevation, facing the road, is two storeys high with two bays. It has a boarded door to the left, accompanied by a 4-pane sash window, and above are two 12-pane Yorkshire sashes set in stone surrounds. The left side of the building displays two 12-pane sashes in alternating-block surrounds, with additional 12-pane Yorkshire sashes in stone surrounds above. The right side features three small windows on each floor, with varied glazing in older openings. The roof is pyramidal, topped with a large square stepped-and-banded central stack.
