Description
Coal Pit Bridge over the River Lathkill is a bridge built in the mid-18th century. It is constructed from limestone rubble with gritstone dressings, parapets, and copings. The bridge features a large segmental arch in the center, flanked by smaller arches on either side. There is a projecting plain band above the arches on both sides. The low parapets are made of coursed squared gritstone topped with flat copings. The bridge is approximately 3 feet wide, and at each end, there are pairs of square piers with pyramidal copings.
