Description
The Eastern Gates, steps, and walls to All Saints Churchyard are gatepiers, steps, and attached walls dating from the mid-18th century and later. They are constructed from coursed squared and ashlar gritstone. The structure features two square gatepiers, each approximately 8 feet tall, with moulded bases and cornices, topped with large acorn-shaped finials on moulded bases. Above the gatepiers is an ironwork lantern arch, with ironwork gates below that are likely from the late 19th century. A low stone wall with chamfered copings is attached on either side and continues down to the east, leading to a flight of five steps that descend to street level.
