Description

The Vicarage is a house dating from 1776, with later alterations. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone on the front facade, limestone rubble elsewhere, with gritstone dressings and quoins. The roof is graduated slate, featuring stone gable end stacks and stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. A moulded eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. The house has an L-shaped plan and three storeys, with a three-bay front. The main entrance is to the rear elevation. The front elevation has a pair of adjoining sash windows within raised surrounds to the east, and a pair of adjoining full-height windows in raised surrounds to the west. Above these are two adjoining sash windows with glazing bars, again in raised surrounds, with a single glazing bar sash in a similar surround between them. The top floor has three triple-pane sashes in raised surrounds. The rear and side elevations also feature sash windows with glazing bars in raised surrounds.
