Description

This guide post, dated 1743, is a rectangular stone structure with inscriptions on each of its four faces. The west face indicates "Middleton Road," the north face states "Dronfield Road," the east face reads "Chesterfield Road," and the south face notes "Bakewell Road 1743." It is one of several stone guide posts located on the moorland fringe to the west of Chesterfield and southwest of Sheffield.
