Description

This is a group of four guidestones located on Big Moor, likely from the 18th century. They are made of gritstone and have a square shape, though they show significant weathering. Two of the guidestones have completely lost their inscriptions. One guidestone is inscribed with "BAS," while the fourth has the inscription "To/ TIDSW/ ELL" on one side and "To/ SHEFIELD" on another. The remaining two sides of this guidestone feature various initials and the dates 1737 and 1775. These guidestones are part of an old trackway system.
