Description
Springwell Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century, with a 19th-century extension. It is constructed from coursed rubble gritstone and features quoins, plain gables, and both intermediate and end ridge stacks, topped with a concrete tiled roof. The building stands two storeys high and has four bays, with the addition located at the southeast end. The windows are 2-light flush mullioned types fitted with 20th-century casements. The central doorway has massive jambs and a lintel, topped by a shallow bracketed hood, and features a 20th-century glazed door. Some stone surrounds to the window openings have been restored, and the two windows next to the doorway appear to be later insertions.
