Description
2 Lowside is an 18th-century house built of coursed squared sandstone and ashlar. It features a slate roof with stone-coped gables and moulded kneelers, along with ashlar and brick gable stacks. The house has three storeys and a south elevation that consists of two bays, showcasing projecting angle quoins and an eaves band. The central doorway is framed by a moulded ashlar doorcase and has a hoodmould above it. To the left of the doorway is a window with a plain stone surround and a 20th-century casement. Above this, there are two windows with similar stone surrounds; the right-hand window is blind, while the left-hand window has a glazing bar sash. At the top, there is a keyed Venetian window featuring a glazing bar sash and fixed lights.
