Description

Milestone located on the south side of Stoney Middleton Road in the parish of Calver, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of chamfered gritstone and features a rounded top that steps up in the middle. The milestone is inscribed with the distances to various locations: Tideswell 7 miles, Chapel 13 miles, Manchester 32 miles, and Chesterfield 10 miles.
