Description

PARISH OF HOLMESFIELD FOX LANE SK 27 NE 4/156 Old Cross, Fox Lane 31.1.67 Plantation II Old Cross. Medieval. Rectangular gritstone shaft tapering towards the head, formerly with a cross integral with the shaft but now with only fragmentary remains of the cross head. The shaft is set into a roughly shaped rectangular stone base. Schedule Ancient Monument No 31 (this number is shared by the nearby Cross in Shillito Wood, Holmesfield, which is of similar appearance and size and which is listed as a separate item).
