Description

Old Cross is a medieval cross located in Shillito Wood, Holmesfield. It features a tapering rectangular gritstone shaft that ends in a plain cross, which is integral to the shaft. The shaft is set into a roughly shaped rectangular base stone. This cross is also a Scheduled Ancient Monument, sharing its designation number with a nearby cross in Fox Lane Plantation, which has a similar appearance and size.
