Description

PARISH OF HOLMESFIELD FOX LANE SK 27 SE 9/155 Old Cross, Shillito Wood II 31.1.67 Cross. Medieval. Tapering rectangular gritstone shaft, terminating in a plain cross, integral with the shaft. The shaft is set into a roughly shaped rectangular base stone. Schedule Ancient Monument No 31 (this number is shared by the nearby cross in Fox Lane Plantation, Holmesfield, which is of similar appearance and size and is listed as a separate item).
