Description

Coralline is a Grade II listed building located on Silver Street in Robin Hood's Bay. It consists of two houses that have been joined into one, dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with many alterations made over time. The structure is built of randomly-tooled coursed sandstone, with the right bay faced in finely vertically-tooled stone, while the left bay is a separate build. The roof is pantiled with a stone ridge, copings, and kneelers, and features brick stacks.

The building has two storeys and an attic, with three bays that are very irregular in appearance. Between the two right bays, there is a modern segment-headed boarded door set beneath a segmental, worn keyed lintel. The right bay has a large 16-pane sash window, while the left bay has a replaced tripartite window with 8-pane side sashes and a 16-pane fixed centre. The far left bay contains a later window in what was originally a fire-window opening. On the first floor, the right bay has a replaced 16-pane sash, and the left bay features replaced sashes in lengthened ovolo-moulded openings, which may have once been mullioned. A wide modern dormer is present on the eaves.

The left bay has a plinth, a wide modern casement window, a replaced 16-pane first-floor sash, and a modern dormer. The end stacks are present, with the left stack having been rebuilt.
