Description
Darnholm and Oakfield are two houses, which may have originally been one, built in the early to mid 19th century. They are constructed from coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone and feature a Welsh slate roof with stone copings, kneelers, and chimneys. Each house has two storeys and one wide bay, with paired doors located in the centre. Darnholm, on the right, likely retains its original door, which has three decorative panels and is topped by a modern gabled hood supported by brackets. Each floor of Darnholm has a 18-pane sash window with a projecting cill; the lower window has pintles for outside shutters. There are end chimneys, with the left one serving Oakfield. Oakfield has been altered, featuring a 20th-century door with an overlight beneath a wooden gabled hood. It also has wide modern sash windows with concrete lintels and wooden cills on each floor, as well as a wide modern flat-headed dormer. Oakfield is included for its group value.
