Description

Endways is a house dated 1709, marked by the initials I and M.R., located on Silver Street in Robin Hood's Bay. It is constructed from roughly-tooled coursed sandstone and features a pantiled roof with stone ridge, copings, and kneelers, along with old brick stacks. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, which are very irregular in arrangement.

The front includes a modern half-glazed door next to an old blocked doorway that has a dated lintel. To the right of the door is a 24-pane fixed light window with a 4-pane opening corner, set in a wooden surround that has pintles for outside shutters, suggesting it may have once served as a shop window. There is a small modern casement window at the far right in an extended fire-window opening, and a 16-pane sash window to the left.

On the first floor, there is a 6-pane fixed light window on the left, a large 16-pane window in the center with a bottom opening, and a 12-pane Yorkshire sash window on the right. A small modern dormer is present on the roof, which is high-pitched and has chimneys at both ends. The rear elevation is one storey high and is partly screened by Odinsfield; it features a 4-panel door with a small Yorkshire sash window to the right and a blocked fire window to the left.
