Description

Glencoe is a house located on Silver Street in Robin Hood's Bay, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed from very fine vertically-tooled sandstone of ashlar quality and features a pantiled roof with stone ridge, copings, kneelers, and stacks. The building has 2½ storeys and a 3-bay width, but the front is mostly blank apart from a door with 3 fancy panels set in a wood doorcase with an unusual design that has an open pediment. There is a bootscraper hole to the left of the door and a 16-pane sash window above it. The gable copings are roll-moulded. On the left side of the building, there are two 12-pane sash windows with projecting cills on the ground floor. The right side is blank, as it was rebuilt after a neighboring house was demolished.
