FYLINGDALES SUNNY PLACE NZ 9505 Robin Hood's Bay 17/201 (north side)

Nos 7 and 8 (Ravensworth 6.10.69 Cottage and Fenay Cottage)

GV II Pair of houses, one build. Probably early C18. Ashlar sandstone; pantiled roof with stone copings and kneelers, brick stacks. 2 storeys and attic, 2 bays each. Doors paired in centre: Fenay Cottage 4-panel under bracketed gabled hood with painting of seagulls in Tympanum; Ravensworth Cottage a replaced 6-panel door in simplified pilaster-and-entablature surround. Fennay Cottage, at left, has two 12-pane sashes on each floor, upper in wood architraves, lower in box frames; and flat-headed dormer with small-paned casement. Ravensworth Cottage has a small blocked window to right of door, then a large 24-pane window with central opening section. First floor two 12-pane sashes. Flat-headed dormer with later C19 margined sash. End chimneys.
