Description

Fenay Cottage and Ravensworth Cottage are a pair of houses, likely built in the early 18th century. They are constructed from ashlar sandstone and feature a pantiled roof with stone copings and kneelers, along with brick chimneys. The buildings are two storeys tall with an attic and consist of two bays each.

The doors are paired in the center: Fenay Cottage has a four-panel door beneath a bracketed gabled hood, which includes a painting of seagulls in the tympanum. Ravensworth Cottage features a replaced six-panel door set in a simplified pilaster-and-entablature surround. Fenay Cottage, on the left, has two 12-pane sash windows on each floor, with the upper windows framed in wood architraves and the lower ones in box frames. It also has a flat-headed dormer with a small-paned casement. Ravensworth Cottage has a small blocked window to the right of the door, followed by a large 24-pane window with a central opening section. The first floor features two 12-pane sash windows, and there is a flat-headed dormer with a later 19th-century margined sash. Both cottages have end chimneys.
