Description
Elm Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located on Malleson Road in Gotherington. It features square-panelled timber framing with painted brick infill, set on a limestone rubble plinth, and is topped with a thatched roof that has decorative ridge thatching. The cottage has a rectangular plan with a gable end facing the road and stands at one and a half storeys. The ground floor includes four 20th-century single-light windows with diamond leaded panes, and there is a 20th-century glass door with glazing bars on the far left. The roof has two 2-light and one 3-light eyebrow dormer windows. A projecting gable end stack is positioned with its upper part set away from the weather-boarded gable facing the road, and to the right of the stack is an almost circular bread oven with a concrete tile roof. The interior has not been inspected.
