Description

The Old Thatch is a 17th-century cottage located in Preston on Stour. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill set on a brick plinth, topped with a thatched roof and a brick end stack. The cottage has a two-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. The exterior includes a two-window range, with a pair of 20th-century, two-light small-paned casement windows to the left of the center and a similar casement in the raking dormer above. The entrance, located on the right return, has a 20th-century porch, and there is a window above in a half-hipped gable. The left return is made of brick and has one small window. There is also a 20th-century rear addition. The interior has not been inspected.
