Description

Old Forge Garage is a house that dates from the 17th century or early 18th century, with 19th-century alterations and 20th-century restoration and additions. It features a timber frame with roughcast cladding on a stone plinth, along with a timber-frame and brick wing. The roof is tiled and has a large brick lateral stack at the rear. The building has a two-unit plan and includes a former outbuilding on the right end.

The exterior is single-storey with an attic and has a symmetrical two-window range. The entrance features a 20th-century plank door. The windows are 2-light small-paned casements with moulded frames and iron opening casements; one window on the right includes a letter box. The attic has two 19th-century gabled brick dormers, each with 2-light small-paned segmental-headed casements. To the right, there is an early 19th-century outbuilding connected to the house by a 20th-century wing at the rear. This outbuilding has a renewed front-facing gable and a 20th-century casement. Its return side features an 18th-century brick plinth with some vitrified headers and a 2-light pegged casement with leaded glazing and an iron opening casement. The left return has 20th-century windows.

At the rear, there are two large 20th-century gabled wings and a porch at the left end. The interior has not been inspected.
