Description

The Old Vicarage is a vicarage that has been converted into a house. It dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. The building features roughcast, likely over a timber frame, sitting on a stone plinth. There is a timber-framed rear wing with brick infill and a brick outshut. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with old tiles, featuring a brick cross-axial stack. The structure is L-shaped, with the gable facing the front to the right.

On the exterior, the building has two storeys and a three-window range. There is a plat band over the ground floor, a pilaster strip at the right end, and a top modillioned timber cornice. The entrance is located to the right of the center and includes a small-paned overlight above a four-flush-panel door. To the left of the entrance, there are two windows with wide frames holding 4/4 sashes with thick glazing bars. To the right of the entrance, there is a small-paned cross-casement window with a horizontally sliding casement. On the first floor, there are two windows with 4/4 horned sashes and one with a small-paned cross-casement.

The left return features two cross-casements on the first floor and a gabled dormer at the hipped end. The rear of the building has a short higher wing with an asymmetrical timber-framed gable and an end stack, along with a lower timber-framed wing that has a later brick catslide outshut. Most windows on the rear are either two-light or three-light casements with iron opening casements. The end of the building has three-light casements and a lean-to outshut to the left. The right return has a blind gable end and a small gabled wing to the left of the outshut, which features a window that projects above the eaves. The interior has not been inspected.
