Description

The Gotherington War Memorial is located at the junction of Gretton Road and Cleeve Road. It features a short, square pillar on a square base, topped with an urn. Two recessed panels on opposite sides display marble plaques that list inscriptions and names. The main inscription reads: "ERECTED TO THE MEMORY OF GOTHERINGTON MEN WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918. THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE," which includes ten names. The second plaque lists names from the conflicts of 1914 – 1918 (two names) and 1939 – 1945 (two names). Surrounding the memorial is a square flower bed with a stone kerb.
