Description
Elm Tree Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century with 20th-century alterations. It features square-panelled timber framing and limestone rubble, with a rendered extension. The cottage has a thatched roof with rendered and painted brick stacks. The main body is rectangular, with a 20th-century lean-to extension on the left gable end and a large 20th-century extension at right angles to the rear. The building is one and a half storeys high and has a symmetrical roadside front, which includes two 20th-century six-light canted oriel windows with thatched roofs and moulded brackets, as well as two 2-light eyebrow dormers on the first floor. All windows are 20th-century wooden casements with leaded panes. The gable ends have half hips and projecting gable-end stacks. The interior has not been inspected. The cottage is included mainly for its group value.
