Description
Baldwin's Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse built in two phases. It features a combination of limestone rubble and painted brick, topped with a concrete tile roof and has brick stacks, one of which is set on an ashlar stump. The building has an 'L'-shaped plan and stands two storeys tall. The front facing the road has four windows, including two 2-light and one 3-light 19th-century casement windows with horizontal glazing bars on the ground floor. A buttress-like projection made of ashlar marks the location of a former bread oven inside. On the first floor, there are three 3-light 19th-century casements with horizontal glazing bars, along with a single-light casement featuring frosted glass. The dressed stone jambs of two of the first-floor windows are likely reused materials. The left gable end has a two-light casement with a heavy wood frame and internal shutters, while the attic contains a 3-light casement. Access to the farmhouse is now through a plank door to an extension at the rear. There are projecting stacks at both gable ends. The interior has not been inspected.
