Description

Avon Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the 17th century, with timber framing and rendered infill. It has a red tile roof and a brick stack, and an L-shaped plan. A part-glazed lean-to, with a corrugated plastic roof, now serves as the entrance, and is not of special interest. The cottage has a 1½-storey profile, with two small 20th-century dormers in the roof of the garden front. Most windows are 2-light casements with horizontal glazing bars. The interior features ceiling beams with deep flat-chamfers and stepped stops, along with an open fire and a bressumer beam.
