Description
Merrymans is a detached cottage that dates from the 17th century, with later additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. It features square-panelled timber framing with struts, rendered and unpainted brick infill, and a wood shingle roof. The main body of the cottage is rectangular, with lean-to extensions from the 19th and 20th centuries at either end and a 20th-century lean-to porch at the center front, which is not of special interest. The facade has three bays and is two stories high. The upper floor is lit by two 2-light casement windows and one single-light casement window. There are also two bow windows, one on each side of the lean-to porch. All windows have glazing bars, and there are projecting gable-end stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
