Description
Fleet Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the 17th to early 18th century, with restorations from the 19th century. It is constructed of brick and features a concrete tile roof along with a brick stack that was restored in the 20th century. The building has a rectangular plan and includes a later lean-to at the rear.
The farmhouse has a plinth with flat-chamfered stone dressing and stands two storeys tall with an attic, which is lit by a 2-light roof dormer. The garden front has three bays and a cross gable on the right that was rebuilt in the 19th century. The windows include single light, 2-light, and 3-light casements set within segmental-headed surrounds on the forward-facing gable. To the right of this gable, there are two 4-light casements featuring king mullions.
There is a stopped hood over the first-floor window and a continuous hood over the ground-floor window. The central entrance consists of a part-glazed 19th-century door with a flat leaded hood supported on brackets. To the right, there are 20th-century French doors flanked by 20th-century fixed casements without glazing bars, which are set within the blocking of a formerly 5-light stone-mullioned casement. A six-light stone-mullioned casement with a king mullion is located on the first floor. The gable end facing the road features two and 3-light stone-mullioned casements, along with a 20th-century plank door with fillets leading to the lean-to on the left. The farmhouse has a large axial stack. The interior has not been inspected.
