Description

Greenhill Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with alterations in the 19th century. It is constructed of rubble-stone walls with Ham stone dressings. The roof is slate-covered, with stone gable-copings and moulded kneelers. Brick stacks are located at the gable ends. The farmhouse has two storeys and originally three windows and a front door on the ground floor. The windows have hollow-chamfered stone mullions, largely featuring 19th-century cast-iron casements with horizontal glazing-bars. Wooden casements flank the front door, each with its own label. The front door, positioned to the left of centre, has straight-chamfered jambs and a depressed-arch head, dating back to the 17th century. It retains a plank-and-muntin door with studs. The north gable end features a 19th-century extension with a pentice roof and slate covering. A large entrance, with a flush-panel door (19th century), is centrally located between two outbuildings. The interior has not been inspected.
