Description

THORNFORD ST 6013 - 6113 LONGFORD ROAD (west side) 16/146 The Stores (Ellwood 31.7.61 and Son) GV II Cottage and attached village stores at right angles. C18, with C19 and C20 additions (stores). Rubble-stone walls. Thatch roof with gable ends and two gabled and thatched dormers to front. Brick stacks at gable ends. 1½ storeys. Two windows, 2-light wood casements. 3-light at right ground. Wood cills and lintels. Front door at centre with flush panels and 2 top lights, C19. Main thatch of roof comes down over front door to form continuous canopy. C19 addition on south end, with clay-tile roof. 2-light wood casement with glazing-bars. Gabled dormer. 2-leaf door, C19. Shop premises attached at right angles north end, rubble-stone walls, roughcast. Clay-tile roof, gabled to front. Shop window to front, two large glass panes each side of central 2-leaf door. Fascia board over. 3-light casement window in gable, early C20.
