Description
Two semi-detached cottages, known as No 1 Twyning Green Cottages and No 2 Twyning Cottages, date from the 16th century. They feature square-panelled timber framing with rendered and painted brick infill, topped by a concrete tile roof and brick stacks. The cottages have a rectangular plan and stand at 1½ storeys high. The upper floor is illuminated by six 2-light 20th-century dormers, while the ground floor has two and four-light 20th-century wood casements and 'stable' type doors. A full cruck truss is visible in the left gable end, alongside a large projecting stack at the right gable end and a single axial stack. The interior of No 1 contains at least three full cruck trusses with tie beams that have run-out stops. The interior of No 2 has not been inspected. There is a 20th-century painted brick extension at the rear, which is not considered of special interest.
