Description
This stable block, located approximately 5 meters north of Twigworth Court, dates from the early to mid-late 19th century. It is constructed of brick with a slate roof and has a rectangular plan. The main section is two storeys high, originally built as a single storey but raised when a mid-late 19th century extension was added. The main body features three bays, with the central bay slightly projecting from the facade.
There is a central round-headed doorway with imposts that continue as a band across the facade. On either side of the doorway, there are single round-headed windows with glazing bars and slats at the bottom. A central pitching door leads to the first floor, flanked by single-light casements with glazing bars set within almost flat segmental-headed surrounds, also with slats at the bottom. The opening to the first floor was inserted in the mid-late 19th century, coinciding with the extension on the right.
The two-storey, four-windowed mid-late 19th century extension on the right features round-headed windows with glazing bars on the first floor and 4-pane casements on the ground floor. There is a central stable door within a segmental-headed surround. The interior has not been inspected.
