Description
Court Farm House is a farmhouse dating from around the 17th century, with extensions and alterations made in the 19th century. It features a timber-framed structure with brick infilling, and the front has been refaced in red brick laid in stretcher bond. There is a rendered brick axial stack. The building has a three-bay main range and a two-bay crosswing at the west end, along with a 19th-century outshut at the rear and east end.
The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical south front, showcasing a gable-ended cross-wing on the left and a late 19th-century brick lean-to porch in the angle. The windows are late 19th-century two-light casements with horizontal glazing bars, and there is a 20th-century casement in the gable on the left. The east gable end displays exposed timber-framing, with a later 19th-century brick outshut below. The main roof at the rear slopes down as a catslide over the brick outshut, while the gabled cross-wing on the right has an 18th or early 19th-century two-light casement above a single-storey brick outshut.
Inside, the farmhouse retains exposed timber-framing, arch-headed doorways in the partitions, and a fireplace in the axial stack with a timber bressumer. The roof structure is not accessible.
