GRIMLEY CP SINTON GREEN Pound Farmhouse

Farmhouse. C17, with C19 alterations and additions. Timber-framed, painted brick infill, brick replacement walling and refacing, tiled roofs, brick stack to right main ridge and 2 external brick stacks to left side elevation, all with oversailing cap courses. Hall and cross-wing type plan; main range of one framed bay and 2-bay cross-wing. Two storeys; cogged eaves cornice to main range. Framing exposed in gable end of cross-wing; square panels, 4 from sill to wall-plate, swept braces in top corners, and queen strut truss in gable end with 2 struts to collar. Front elevation Main range has a ground floor casement with cambered head, a gabled dormer and casement, and a planked door with a cambered head, and gabled canopy on timber uprights with trellised infill, to the right side. Cross-wing gable end has a ground floor glazing bar sash with moulded architrave and a first floor casement; there is a fire insurance mark on the tie-beam. Interior not inspected. A C19 single storey extension adjoins the right side elevation.
