Description
Cranham is a house dating from the 17th century, with additions made in the mid-20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with rendered infill and a thatched roof, along with an external end brick stack that has offsets. The house consists of two framed bays and is two storeys high. The framing includes square panels, with four panels extending from the sill to the wall-plate. The gable ends display exposed tie-beam trusses supported by two struts to the collar.
On the front elevation, there are three casement windows on both the ground and first floors. The entrance is located in the left bay and is sheltered by a thatched timber porch, which includes a part-glazed door and sidelights. Inside, there is an intermediate queen strut truss, single trenched purlins, and the main beams are stop-chamfered. The left elevation has a 20th-century outshut, and there is also a flat-roofed extension at the rear.
