Description
The stable block, located approximately 15 meters southwest of Tawstock Court, dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of rendered stone rubble and features a slate roof that is hipped at the right end and gabled at the left. The building is L-shaped in plan and is a single storey with a loft above. It has a layout of 2-2-2 bays, with the central two bays featuring a pediment. The central bays have arched openings above a semi-circular headed relieving arch, with partially infilled round-arched openings; the left side contains a 12-paned sash window, while the right side has a lunette. The right-hand bays have two lunettes above a partially blocked opening, and the left-hand bays include a plank door to the left of a 12-paned sash window. The right-hand rear wing has been altered in the 20th century.
