Description
The stable block at Trewern is a late 18th century or early 19th century structure built from rubble stone, with some parts whitewashed and a slate roof. It is two storeys tall and has a T-shaped plan with a rear wing. The front is simple, featuring a door flanked by a window on each side, all with timber lintels, and there is one loft window located to the right of the centre. The rear wing includes a west end stack and a loft window in the gable. Inside, both the stable and the rear wing boast heavy hewn beams and pegged roof trusses with nailed collars.
On the north end, there are outside stairs leading to the loft, which has dove holes in the gable to the left and the remains of a gabled porch above the loft door.
