Description
The Lodge is an early 19th-century cottage located in Tawstock. It is constructed of rendered stone rubble, with a hipped thatch roof. A brick lateral stack, heightened with a tapering clay pot, is situated on the right side. The building's gable end faces the road, with a central entrance on the front elevation. The plan is rectangular, with two rooms and a storage room below at the lower end, built into a bank. The cottage is designed in a Gothick style. It is a single-storey building with a hipped thatch roof supported by rustic timber posts to the front doorway, which is flanked by small quatrefoil windows. There are three windows on the left side, featuring pointed arched Gothick 2-light casements with five panes per light and Y-bars.
