Description
FRAMPTON-ON-SEVERN CHURCH END SO 7406-7506 11/98 Watts Monument, about 23m north of Hawkins Monument in churchyard of Church of St. Mary the Virgin GV II Large pedestal tomb. George, 1805 and Sarah Watts, 1806. Limestone. Gadrooned pyramidal cap with ball finial, moulding capping and tall plinth, reeded frieze and carved astragal. Half- round ends, fluted, with twin urns and drapery relief to west, and weeping cherub with tree and urn on tomb to east. Sides have raised oval panels with draped leaf relief. Set in large formerly raised enclosure with moulded edge, and paved with plain headstones of other members of Watts family.
