Description

Colley and an unidentified monument are located about 30 meters north of the Jennings Monument in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Frampton-on-Severn. These two chest tombs date from different periods. The southern tomb is for Sarah Colley, who died in 1782, while the northern tomb is unidentified and dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century. Both tombs are made of limestone.

The Colley tomb features a flat top with a moulded plinth and capping on a large base, and it has indented corners. It includes a fluted frieze and returns to the ends, with a relief of a book and trumpets on the west oval panel and a similar design on the east. The sides have raised panels shaped like tombstones, which are very eroded on the north side and partially overgrown as of December 1985.

The unidentified tomb also has a flat top with a moulded plinth and capping, although the plinth is scarcely visible. Its sides are divided into three recessed panels, and the ends also feature recessed panels.
