Description

FRAMPTON-ON-SEVERN CHURCH END SO 7406-7506 11/92 Barnard and Unidentified Monument, about 15m north of north door to east of path, in churchyard of Church of St. Mary the Virgin GV II Two chest tombs. To north, unidentified, mid/late C18; to south, John Barnard 1796. Limestone. To north: flat top, moulded plinth and capping on base. Sides have moulded rectangular panels with flanking relief strips, ends have cartouches. Barnard: nearly square with pyramidal cap, moulded plinth and capping, fluted frieze with spiral astragal. Indented corners. Raised ovals with draped leaf relief to 3 sides, west side has relief of tree and pyramid with drapery. Partially overgrown at time of survey (December 1985).
