Description

The Whille Monument is a chest tomb located about 13 meters north of the Hawkins Monument in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Frampton-on-Severn. It dates from the 18th century and is dedicated to Thomas Whille, who died in the 1720s. The tomb is made of limestone and features a flat top, a moulded plinth and capping, and lyre ends with plain central panels. The sides are divided into three sections, with a large central fielded panel and two smaller flanking fielded panels. The slab has slightly shifted to the north.
